Keybox Location
Key box Location Rules
- ALWAYS make sure that the key box is SECURED on something non-removable.
- Think of others when placing your key box - is it easy to reach? Is it in a convenient place, away from thorny bushes & mudholes?
- The key box should hang loosely. If you need to jam it down on something, you will likely not be able to get it off and will have to pay for the key box.
- Key boxes can only go on ACTIVE listings. A key box cannot go on a listing with an Limited Service Agreement, a withdrawn listing, or an expired listing.
- Make sure you take the key box off as soon as it is no longer needed. If you have a pending sale and the house is no longer being marketed, TAKE THE KEYBOX OFF.
Key Boxes that are not removed by 5 pm on the second business day after the sale has closed will incur MLS fines of $50.00. They will also be subject to removal by any means necessary by the new home-buyer and or the buyer's agent. If your key box is damaged while being removed by a third party, you will be charged the $50.00 non-removal of a key box fine, and $99.00 + tax for the cost of the key box. All MLS fines must be paid within 30-days of issuance.
